A good college friend of mine is one of the attorney’s representing victims of the Northern California fires against PG&E. Just days ago, the L.A. Times reported a recent $13.1 billion dollar settlement. This has been a long time coming for many, first of three major fires starting back as early as 2015 with the Butte fire. While I am am extremely proud of him (and not surprised) and happy for those who will benefit from the recovery funds, not all loses are replaceable.
As a realtor working in a high fire hazard zone, with the magnified reality and effect of insurance companies denying and even canceling policies in high-risk areas, it’s prudent to be mindful of home hazards big and small. We are water wise, we need to be FIRE WISE.
